Terms and Conditions

By using services provided by Tunbridge Wells Tutoring you are agreeing to comply with, and be bound by, the following terms and conditions:

Tutoring Sessions:

  • Tutoring sessions last 1 hour unless otherwise agreed.

  • Face-to-face tutoring will take place in the student’s home unless otherwise agreed.

  • The tutor holds a full DBS/CRB check, has been trained in safeguarding and will follow local authority safeguarding reporting procedures. Parents/caregivers are welcome to be present in the sessions.

  • An individual tutoring approach will be agreed with the parent/guardian and student at the beginning of the partnership in a 30-minute free session. A review of lessons and progress can be made at any time.

  • The tutoring agreement can be cancelled at any time by either party, however lessons already paid for will not be refunded unless the cancellation has been initiated by the tutor.

  • Tunbridge Wells Tutoring cannot be held accountable for grades/results in examinations which do not meet a student’s expectations.

Homework:

  • Homework/follow-on work can be provided but will not be marked between lessons unless an additional fee has been paid. This will then be submitted and marked via email or Google Classroom and students will be given the chance to respond to the feedback and/or make improvements.

  • Mock exams can be undertaken and marked for an additional fee.

  • Homework/mock assessments can be live marked with the student as part of the session for no extra cost.

Payment:

  • Current prices can be found on the website: www.tunbridgewellstutoring.co.uk

  • Sessions will be booked and invoices issued at the beginning of each month. Payment for the month ahead must be made before the next lesson unless agreed otherwise.

  • A ‘full term’ bundle includes 12 sessions in term time.

  • A ‘half term’ bundle includes 6 sessions in term time.

  • Holiday sessions can be booked separately according to availability.

Lateness and Cancellations:

  • Tunbridge Wells Tutoring will do everything it can to rearrange sessions needing to be cancelled at least 24 hours before the booked time, however this is not always possible and no refunds will be given for lessons that are cancelled where a new time cannot be agreed (or if less than 24 hours’ notice is provided.)

  • Sessions cancelled by the tutor due to sickness etc. will be refunded if no alternative time can be agreed.

  • Sessions will take place during the agreed timeslot. Unfortunately there can be no extension for lessons which begin late due to the student not arriving on time.

  • Should, for unavoidable reasons, a tutor be late for a session, the time will be made up either at the end of the booked session or during subsequent sessions.

Damages:

  • The parent/guardian is responsible for any damage caused by the student and shall be liable to pay the full cost of repair and / or replacement of any equipment damaged beyond repair (with reference to new equipment of the same or nearest available specification.)
